For the first time, the most promising newcomers of the German jazz scene have their very own stage at jazzahead!.
The awardees of the 2013 edition of the national competition for young jazz
musicians ›Bundesbegegnung Jugend jazzt mit dem ŠKODA Jazzpreis‹ (organized by Deutscher Musikrat, engl. German Music Council) have the chance to present their talent in front of the audience in Bremen. The trio moment’s kon.cept (Saxony) and the Moritz Wesp Quartet (Hesse) received the coveted studio prize of Deutschlandfunk at ›Jugend jazzt mit dem ŠKODA Jazzpreis‹ 2013 and with it the opportunity to record their own CD at the Chamber Music Hall of Deutschlandfunk in Cologne. In 2013, the ŠKODA Jazz Prize was given out under the topic ›combos‹ and was awarded to Trio Kaktusfeld from Thuringia. Guitarist Bertram Burkert (19), bassist Christian Dähne (23) and drummer Julian Wundrak (15) can look forward to a full-day workshop followed by a concert with jazz trumpet player Rüdiger Baldauf, who is known to a wide audience as a musician of the heavytones from Stefan Raab’s TV show ›TV Total‹.
