From the very start, Marc Cary's mission with this trio was to fuse indigenous beats and patterns with American jazz to create new sound structures. To achieve this, Cary often takes on a practical approach and builds his own instruments suited to his needs. For the trio's latest record, e.g., he customized a MIDI pedal to construct samples.
